Enako is ready to take her cosplay act to its biggest stage yet with a brand-new photo collection produced by manga mega-publisher Shueisha.

The title may be unofficial, but the cosplay community in Japan has dubbed Enako “Japan’s number-one cosplayer.” It’s pretty hard to argue with the title, seeing as how Enako consistently draws massive crowds at every event she attends, and also because of the staggering amount of money fans are willing to spend on her merchandise.

At the most recent iteration of otaku culture event Comiket, Enako figures she raked in about 10 million yen (US$90,100) in sales in a single day. But while she’s had phenomenal success selling self-produced merch, Enako has never had a major publisher release a collected album of her photos. That’s all about to change, though.

As pictured above, Enako was featured on the cover and in a photo spread for the latest issue of manga anthology Weekly Young Jump, and fans who looked through the magazine had one more thing to be happy about, as it contained an announcement that Shueisha (Weekly Young Jump’s publisher) will be releasing Enako’s first photo album from a major mainstream publisher. While Enako has an extensive backlog of existing photos, the upcoming book looks to feature all-new photography with Enako dressed as characters from some of the most popular and influential anime/manga franchises of all time.

In addition to Weekly Young Jump, Shueisha is the publisher for Dragon Ball and One Piece, and so Enako will model costumes from both of those perennial hits, as well as harem comedy To Love-Ru. The book will also have photos of Enako doing cosplay from Ranma 1/2 (published by Shieuisha’s original parent company, Shogakukan), and as a further treat for fans of late ‘80s/early ‘90s anime romances, she’ll also slip into an outfit designed by Masakazu Katsura, manga artist for Video Girl Ai.

Though no preview photos have surfaced yet, Shueisha is promising Enako will appear in at least 10 different costumes in the album, which is currently being produced under the working title Enako (because if the cosplayer herself only needs one name, the same should be true for her book). Unfortunately, there’s no scheduled release date yet, so for the time being, Enako’s many fans will just have to hold tight to their Enako huggy pillows while they wait.
