Standing out on Harajuku’s famous Cat Street with vibrant colored streetwear styles are Minatsu and Ryo.
At the left sporting a fringed bob is Minatsu, an 18-year-old fashion student. She is dressed in a yellow-green cropped sweatshirt from Mang, which features a multicolored dripping paint print and slit sleeves with button closure details. She wore the sweatshirt over a purple print long sleeve top and wore a dark green colorblock Jouetie skirt over purple fishnet tights. Purple panda print socks, colorblocked Cape Robbin sneakers and a Betty’s Blue crossbody bag rounded out her outfit. Minatsu embellished her colorful look with accessories such as lighted visor glasses, a Gameboy accessory with printed lanyard, multiple plushie keychains and a gold knuckle ring. Minatsu told us that she loves listening to the music of Japanese electronicore band, Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas. Follow her on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Ryo – a Japanese architect – stepped out in a vintage and resale outfit consisting of a purple snakeskin print collarless jacket, a white sweatshirt with lace sleeves and furry textured details and mustard yellow pants. Resale purple suede sneakers and a Codona de Moda plushie bag finished off his look. Ryo also accessorized with colorful items such as a purple bucket hat, a printed face mask, a blue furry sleeping eye mask, a blue lock necklace, a green Balenciaga card holder necklace, a cat mask, an FR2 rabbit mask and a purple animal plushie. Most of his accessories are resale items. Ryo lists Codona de Moda as his fashion favorite while his music artist picks include Aimyon and Japanese singer-songwriter, Trio Ohashi.
