Standing out in Harajuku across Tower Records Cafe is a group of statement-making streetwear personalities who are familiar faces on our Harajuku street snaps. From left to right they are: Takashi, Motoka, Paladini, Ohshi Uemoto, Kifujin and Michelle. Let’s take a closer look at their attention-grabbing ensembles.
Takashi is a freelance stylist, who stepped out wearing a black velvet one-shoulder top with a side bow detail, a black faux leather skirt, and a pair of black patent pointy pumps with stiletto heels. They accessorized their all black look with pearl earrings, a silver nose ring, a chunky beaded necklace, a black ring, and a black leather handbag. Up next is Motoka, a student also clad in an all black look. She donned a black fishnet bodysuit, worn underneath a black bralette with grommet straps, and short denim shorts. She finished off her look with a pair of Vivienne Westwood ankle wrap rocking horse shoes, a black captain’s hat with gold studs, and a leather o-ring bib necklace. Motoka is active on Instagram.
Sporting slicked-back red hair is Paladini, a makeup artist. She is clad in a faux leather zip-up off-the-shoulder top, tucked into a black patent leather mini skirt, and paired with lace-up heeled boots. Extreme face makeup with bold red lips, gauged ears, and facial piercings – paired with a collarbone tattoo – added an extra punch to her all black style. Meanwhile, Ohshi Uemoto stepped out on the Harajuku street dressed in a Vivienne Westwood x Anglomania striped Chaos shirt, which he tucked into tan printed drawstring pants from Vivienne Westwood Man. The composer/pianist/DJ/Tokyo Decadence Staff slipped into spiked lace-up tall platform shoes from Monster Shoes, and completed his outfit with a captain’s hat, a leather o-ring choker, and a spiked leather cuff bracelet. Sporting a red veil with his style is Kifujin, a fashion buyer who is also a popular streetwear personality. This day, Kifujin donned a black velvet off-the-shoulder top with fishnet sleeves, which he paired with layers consisting of black tights, a red ruffle skirt, and a black maxi skirt with multiple sheer layers. Red platform open toe rocking horse shoes, a floral print chain sling bag, and accessories such as the red veil over a wired handmade crown, earrings, and a black pleated ruff collar finished off his statement-making ensemble. Meanwhile, Michelle – an Acne Studios staffer – is sporting a red and black ensemble, consisting of a black sleeveless ruched top, a black lace hoop skirt worn over black tights, and cinched with a black leather lace-up corset belt. She finished off her style with red ankle-wrap platform rocking horse shoes from Vivienne Westwood, a black ruffle parasol, and a black vintage leather satchel handbag. Adding flair to her ensemble are a red floral headpiece, a multi-layered pearl necklace, a black leather harness, and a pair of long red gloves. Japanese visual kei rock band, Malice Mizer is Michelle’s favorite, and she is also active on Instagram.
