While out and about in Harajuku, we came across Akino, a Japanese fashion designer whose pastel vintage and antique fashion look easily caught our eye on the street.

Sporting pastel pink hair, Akino stepped out in a vintage cream-colored cardigan with lace trims. She wore the cardigan over a white lace-trimmed ribbed top and a light blue lace camisole with ruffled hem trims from Victoria’s Secret. She paired her layered tops with vintage lace-trimmed shorts, white thigh-high socks and platform baby doll shoes with crisscross straps from Bubbles. Akino accessorized her look with blue hair clips, a white ruffle face mask with lace trims, small hoop earrings, layered necklaces and multiple rings. Her accessories are vintage, hand-me-down pieces. In addition, Akino is carrying a resale white polka dot waist bag strapped across her chest. Her look reminds us of the famous Cult Party Kei style championed by Tokyo vintage shop The Virgin Mary.

Akino’s favorite fashion brand is her own vintage and remake brand, Parca Silky and she loves to shop at vintage boutiques. Her favorite music artist/groups are Lovely Summer-chan, Mizumakura, Ronri and 4s4ki. Follow Akino on Twitter and Instagram.

While out and about in Harajuku, we bumped into Rino, the 7-year-old Japanese student we often meet on the street. She is a model for Honey Supply, a vintage kids fashion shop in Tokyo’s Machida neighborhood.

Sporting an odango hairstyle with long pastel curls, Rino stepped out in an outfit from Honey Supply. Her ensemble features a 1970s vintage NBC Proud as A Peacock t-shirt and 1970s vintage Levi’s semi-flared pants with baby blue suspenders. Rino is also wearing multicolored Ugg fuzzy slippers, carried a vintage Emilio Pucci geometric print tote bag and finished off her retro style with statement sunglasses from We Are Sons and Daughters, peach-colored disco ball sequin earrings, a beaded bracelet and a coral necklace from Honey Supply.

Easily catching our attention on the streets of Tokyo’s Harajuku neighborhood are Minami Nakamura and KTea, two Japanese girls sporting striking kimono fashion.

At the left is Minami, a Japanese artist. She is dressed in a long black kimono with painted back details. She is also wearing a black ribbed cropped top and black jeans with custom-painted artwork by Munenori Tamagawa. She finished off her look with brown leather Birkenstock slip-on sandals and accessories such as a yellow printed headscarf, hoop earrings, a silver nose ring, a sun pendant necklace, a red belt, rope bracelets and multiple silver knuckle rings. Meanwhile, curly-haired KTea stepped out in a similar ensemble. The Japanese dancer and model is wearing a textured mustard yellow kimono jacket from Hanayagi Kimonorobe, which she styled with a blue velvet 1994 cropped halter top and Levi’s jeans with painted artwork by Munenori Tamagawa. KTea completed her ensemble with a pair of Kobe Bryant Jordans high top sneakers and accessories such as a black printed face mask, blue geometric statement earrings, a layered rope pendant necklace, a black skinny leather belt and a printed silk scarf she tied on her belt loop. Some of her accessories are handmade pieces. KTea loves to shop at The Superiors and she is also active on Instagram.
